An overlook of a large river
/ 08/22/2026 / over the top /

went to an area today that's known for it's scenery, i think i just needed to get away from everything for a second. there were lots of eagles circling above my head, and the wind was atrocious, but it was nice. i last went to this area probably 15 years ago? it's changed so much yet still looks vaguely recognizable. it's nice to revisit the past sometimes.
Flowers
/ 07/28/2026 / breaking the mirror /

i went out to see a little garden full of flowers to reflect on things a bit. this will be the last photo i've taken before starting some really large changes in my life. i was actively thinking about that a lot walking around. reflecting on who i am, where i'm going, and all that. nature evolves and so do i, i suppose.
Skyline with some clouds
/ 07/03/2026 / sun-light /

the sky was pretty today. there were lots of fireflies, bugs, and even an owl (who i just barely got a very distorted shot of). felt like that owl was watching me the whole time. we don't get a lot of them out here. what a comforting sign.

City street on a summer night
/ 06/01/2026 / summer nights /

i went on my first real walk of the summer season. i missed this time. when everything is green and (not) dead, the mosquitoes haven't quite yet reached their peak for the season, and there's a dull humidity in the air. this time of night, i went the out alone, and everything was so quiet for once.
Clouds above a lone boater and a swallow above his head
/ 05/23/2026 / a swallow dives /

spring is almost over, and i find myself increasingly anxious about the next few months. everything is starting to move so fast. even in the midst of it all though, you can still find a few moments of silence, of respite, that are enough to calm the soul. this is one of those moments.
An ominous yellow sky
/ 04/14/2026 / tornado tension /

there's been a lot of storms lately, and with a lot of really ominous looking clouds. i'm not the type to typically seek them out very much, but they seem to have found me instead.
